My little but not so dirty secret......

Dear Frankie
I have a little secret to tell you, it’s not a world changing secret.  Hell it’s not even a “dirty little secret.  It’s not even that I love listening to the Bee Gees on a hot summer’s day.  Frankie, my dear, my secret is you!
Yes you, Frankie Parker, my little blog.  I can count on one hand the people who know about you.
Why have I told no one?  I am not sure perhaps it is because I want to keep you to myself for a little while more.  To see where we can go together and how you develop.  Let’s not run before we can walk as they say.  What if we stop getting on or even have a falling out?  Or is it just that I am not ready to admit to the world yet that I am a blogger.   After all, the written word is so much more powerful than the spoken word.  What if I offend someone close to me by some opinions I may have that differ to theirs?  Hell there is no way you are going anywhere near my Facebook page until I am well and ready for it.  And as for LinkedIn, well that is never going to happen!
Or is it simply that I don’t want people to know about you as it’s a private thing between me and you?  Where I can put my thoughts, ponderings and opinions down without beginning judged as I know you will understand.
It has been hard, very hard at times keeping you quiet.  There has been times where I do so what to mention some of the great blogs I have read or talk about a twitter conservation I have had.
But no Frankie, I am not ready for that yet, so honey it looks like it is just you and me for a little bit more..
Hope you don’t mind?
Love
Me xx

Wow, this little letter sounds a whole lot like me. There are 5 people in my real life that know about Fox in the City . . . that's it. Luckily one of them is my husband so I can talk about all the great blogs I read or a funny tweet.

For me, I guess I see my blog as a place for me to be open and honest in a way that is not always possible in real life. I try hard not to blog anything I wouldn't say in real life. But let's face it, sometimes it is not always a good idea to actually say what you think. Hence my blog.

I've never written to Stigmum a beautiful letter like that though I could just as easily copy yours and put her name in place of Frankie's.
We fight like mad me and stigs. I've tended to write it all down, makes me come across abit of a nutter perhaps but all the things you say are so valid.
I told no-one about stigmum. When I got bolder and tried telling a few, and they wouldn't ask for the link, phew!
Then I met someone at a charity and they found the blog independently and knew it was me so some people do know but even anonymous I get a bit, dunno, afraid of what to divulge?
Keep going on your adventure! The ups and downs, the swings and roundabouts! Keeping such a big part of your life a secret is really difficult but go with your instinct because you really do have a great blog! x

I love that letter and I can so understand as having outed mine long ago it does change what you write, how you write it and even not writing stuff for fear of offending someone.
Carry on as you are, there's always time to change your mind

No one knows about 'Mummy Daddy and Me makes Three' except my husband and my sister. My parents know but don't know the address. I wouldn't tell any friends it is my personal space to vent. x

I haven't told anyone about mine yet either. Well, husband, sister and a couple of friends excepted. And after two years, I don't think I will. I see how much I censor myself on Facebook and I don't want that for my blog. I am often tempted to tell other people, but I think it would only end in disappointment.

Hi Ladies, good to know that it is just not me..

MWA - know what you mean about censorship, i don't want to have to worry about what i am writing - even thou i wouldn't write about anyone close to me...

Thanks for stopping by...

I'm similar, I don't really tell people about my blog if I know them in real life

Interestingly it turns out that various real life people have stumbled on it and read it (including one friend reading 80+ posts in an evening...) but I still don't publicise

Its not that I'm ashamed of it, more that I like keeping it as my space where I can write what I like I guess
